Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Military Retirement Planner, a service of Adapt Embroidery & Printing, LLC, doing business as Military Retirement Planner ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our services.

1. Eligibility and Accounts

• Eligibility: you must be at least 18 years old to use this website.
• Account security: you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
• Permitted use: you agree to use our services for personal, non-commercial purposes and to comply with all applicable laws.

2. Subscription Plans and Billing

• Free plan: provides access to basic retirement calculation tools and a limited introduction to AI features.
• Paid plans (Pro and Pro Plus): unlock advanced features such as scenario modeling, tax analysis, benefit calculators, and AI planning features. Current prices are shown on our pricing page and at checkout.
• Auto-renewal: monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until canceled.
• Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing (via the Stripe billing portal). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
• Free trial: where offered (for example, a 7-day Pro Plus trial), the trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends.
• Lifetime membership: where offered, lifetime access to the applicable plan's features is granted for a one-time fee.
• Payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's terms.

3. AI Allowances and Fair Use

• Paid plans include a monthly AI usage allowance (expressed as tokens with an estimated number of questions or plans). Allowances reset each billing month and unused monthly allowance does not roll over.
• Allowances and estimates are approximate: actual consumption depends on the length and complexity of your questions and plans.
• We may apply reasonable rate limits and anti-abuse controls to keep the service available for everyone. Automated, scripted, or bulk use of the AI features is prohibited.

4. AI Credits (Top-Ups)

• What they are: one-time purchases that add AI usage on top of your monthly allowance. Credits are consumed only after your included monthly allowance is used up.
• They never expire.
• Active subscription required: credits can only be used while you have an active paid subscription. If your subscription lapses, your remaining credits are paused — not lost and not refunded — and become usable again when you resubscribe.
• Pack eligibility: Q&A credit packs require a Pro or Pro Plus subscription; premium credit packs (which cover AI plan building with premium models) require Pro Plus.
• Non-refundable: credit purchases are final and non-refundable, including when paused due to a lapsed subscription.
• No cash value: credits are not money, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.

5. Refunds

Subscription payments, lifetime memberships, and AI credit purchases are due at the time of purchase and are non-refundable, except where required by law. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals but does not refund the current period.

6. AI-Generated Content

• Retirement plans, chat answers, and tax analyses produced by our AI features are generated by machine-learning models. They may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information.
• AI output is educational information only. It is not financial, tax, or legal advice, and it does not create an advisor–client relationship.
• Always verify important figures with official sources (such as DFAS, the VA, or your finance office) and consult a licensed financial advisor, tax professional, or attorney before making decisions.
• You are responsible for how you use AI output. Do not rely on it as your sole basis for financial decisions.

7. Calculator Accuracy

We strive to keep our calculators, pay tables, and tax data accurate and current; however, all results are estimates based on the inputs you provide and the data available to us, and they are not guarantees of financial outcomes. Official figures from DFAS, the VA, the IRS, and your state control in the event of any difference.

8. Plan Share Links

If you create a share link for a plan, anyone who has that link can view the plan without logging in. You are responsible for who you give the link to. We may disable share links that are abused.

9. Acceptable Use

• No scraping, crawling, or bulk extraction of content or data.
• No attempts to probe, disrupt, overload, or bypass security or rate limits, or to access other users' data.
• No use of the AI features to generate unlawful, harmful, or infringing content, or to resell AI output as a service.
• No reverse engineering of the service except where permitted by law.

10. Intellectual Property and Site Content

• Ownership: all content, features, and functionality on this site, including text, graphics, and logos, are owned by Adapt Embroidery & Printing, LLC and protected by copyright.
• Your license: you may use our tools and materials for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
• Your content: you retain your rights to the information you enter; you grant us the license needed to store and process it to provide the service.
• Content transparency: some articles and newsletters on this site are drafted with the assistance of AI and reviewed by a human before publication.

11. Third-Party Services

The service depends on third-party providers — including Stripe (payments), Anthropic (AI models), and Brave (web search) — as described in our Privacy Policy. Their availability is outside our control, and temporary outages of dependent features may occur.

12. Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and Indemnity

• As-is: the service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• Limitation of liability: to the maximum extent permitted by law, Adapt Embroidery & Printing, LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for financial decisions made in reliance on the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
• Indemnification: you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Adapt Embroidery & Printing, LLC from claims resulting from your use of the website or violation of these terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the service or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the AI features, or create risk for the service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 5, 6, 12, and 14) survive.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE — to be confirmed with counsel], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The parties will first attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us at [email protected].

15. Modifications to Terms

We may modify these terms as the product evolves. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date; for material changes we will notify you by email or in the app. Your continued use of the website after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
